Tour of Britain 2008 – It’s here! Welcome to the 2008 Tour of Britain website, this is the place to come for all the latest news about the race route, riders and developments throughout the run up to our ‘grand depart’ on 7th September.

After a fantastic race in 2007 where British riders took three stage wins and three out of the four leaders jerseys on offer, the 2008 Tour of Britain grows another day longer this year, meaning more opportunities than ever to see the best of British and international pro-cycling on the roads of the UK. The 2008 Tour of Britain will visit a total of 15 host venues around the country, nine of which are completely new to the race, so if the race hasn’t been past your door step, perhaps this is the year!

This year will be a year of innovation at Tour of Britain and will have a big impact on how you as a spectator can interact with the race. For the first time we’ll have daily coverage of the race on ITV4, and during the race itself you’ll be able to track the race in real-time via the service provided by our mapping partners Memory Map.

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll be updating the site with more detailed information about race routes, riders, teams and more, we’ve introduced an rss feed for those who want to know every time we make a change to the site, alternatively, you can sign up to our newsletter service to receive email updates direct from Tour HQ.

Tour of Britain 2008 will be the biggest and best edition of the race to date, we hope you can join us somewhere along the journey either via our television coverage on ITV4 or in person somewhere along the route. See you in September!
