Sigma Sport - Specialized

Sigma Sport – Specialized return for their second Tour of Britain once again looking for a high overall result for Simon Richardson, but also to infiltrate breaks in search for a jersey or a stage win.

Richardson has twice finished in the top 20 of The Tour of Britain, taking 17th in 2008 and 14th last year, and will have extra motivation on this year's Stage Six in his native Somerset, which passes through his hometown of Shepton Mallet twice.

Another rider who will be looking at this year's Tour of Britain in eager anticipation is Dutchman Wouter Sybrandy, who will be looking forward to the TfL London Stage Individual Time Trial, having regularly placed prominently in time trials in the UK.

Now 41, former British Champion Matt Stephens is likely to be focussed on a managerial role at this year's Tour of Britain, having read last year's event. Stephens was sidelined early in the season after a crash in Paris – Troyes left him with a broken leg, amongst other injuries. Stephens' vast experience from a 25 year professional career will stand the team in good sted at The Tour, and he'll be hoping to mastermind them to a first stage win for a domestic British trade team.

Another rider who has struggled with injuries in 2011 is Russell Hampton, with the former GB Academy rider looking to start his first Tour of Britain since 2007, when he finished 20th riding in the colours of Great Britain.
