Team Raleigh
A revamped Raleigh squad return for their second Tour of Britain with a number of riders in line to make their Tour debuts. The famous cycle manufacturer returned to the peloton in 2010, and has a number of new riders for the 2011 season, including Americans Ryan Parnes and Philip Mooney, Canadian Jamie Sparling and Frenchman Gael Le Bellec, the latter of whom has previously done well in the Tour of the Pyrenees.
These riders join 2010 Tour of Britain riders Dan Fleeman, Liam Holohan and Richard Handley. In Fleeman Raleigh have a former top ten finisher in The Tour. Earlier this season the Staffordshire rider picked up a top ten finish in Canada's Tour de Beauce, showing he is still more than capable of a good result in a week long stage race.
Holohan was the top placed Raleigh rider in last year's Tour of Britain, while Handley is a strong time trialist so will be looking forward to the reintroduction of the individual time trial in the Tour of Britain come Sunday 18th September.
Raleigh also have several riders capable of contesting sprints, such as Flying Dutchman Jeroen Janssen and Matt Cronshaw. Stage Two to Blackpool is likely to appeal to Cronshaw, passing as it does close to his home town of Lancaster.
