Team NetApp

NetApp have a young team, taking the unofficial ‘Newcomer of the Year’ title in last year’s UCI Europe Tour. This year they have expanded to 17 riders making up a multinational roster with European, African and American riders.

Leading the way is South African Daryl Impey, who returns for his second Tour of Britain. Having won the Tour of Turkey in 2009, Impey has proved in the past he has the quality to win a week long stage race, so is likely to lead Team NetApp in The Tour.

Other than Impey only Bartosz Huzarski and Eric Baumann have Tour of Britain experience, with the latter the Sprints Jersey winner in the 2005 Tour while riding for T-Mobile.

Wins so far in 2011 have been thin on the ground, but Czech rider Leopold Koenig has finished on the overall podium at both the Tour of Austria and the Tour de l’Ain, marking him out as a possible General Classification contender at The Tour of Britain.

Time trial specialists Timon Seubert and Jan Barta also have the potential to do well on The TfL London Stage Individual Time Trial, while Daniel Schorn and Michael Schwarzmann may only be young, but both are promising sprinters.
