ISD – Neri

With their vivid jerseys ISD are hard to ignore, and luckily their results match up to the brightness of their kit, with the team being one of the top ranked UCI ProContinental squads in 2010.

Chief results getter is Italian National Champion Giovanni Visconti, who was the leading rider in the UCI Europe Tour at the end of July thanks to strong performances throughout the Spring and Summer. Visconti was named amongst the initial ISD line-up for The Tour, though with the Turin rider potentially in the Italian squad for the World Championships, he may have his Autumnal race programme dictated by new Italy coach Paolo Bettini.

Aside from Visconti ISD have a number of other strong riders capable of putting in good performances and results in Britain, including double top ten finisher Simon Clarke and young Italian Pierpaolo De Negri who impressed the 2009 Tour while riding as a stagiare for ISD.

Intriguingly ISD have former U23 World Champion Dmytro Grabovskyy, a immensely talented young rider who is yet to live up to the potential he showed when winning his World title in Madrid five years ago. With backing from Italian and Ukrainian businesses, ISD will likely field a squad made up of both nationalities, but helmed by former pro Luca Scinto.
