Garmin – Transitions Pro Cycling Team

The highly popular Garmin return for their third Tour of Britain keen to go one better than in 2009 when Australian sprinter Chris Sutton finished second overall, winning the opening stage into York along the way.

Sutton is now with Team Sky, but Garmin still have a very strong squad to select from, which contains such household names as David Millar, Dave Zabriske and Christian Vandevelde. The Tour of Britain line-up is due to have another such familiar name leading it in Irishman Dan Martin, who came fourth overall at the 2008 Tour.

Two years on he’ll be looking towards the top step of the podium, particularly after he won the Tour of Poland at the beginning of August.

Garmin have a number of other highly talented young English speakers including Jack Bobridge, Christian Meyer and the Australian brothers Cameron and Travis Meyer, the latter pair who are both part of the Garmin pre-selection.

Tour de France stage winner Robbie Hunter and Brazilian Champion Murilo Fischer are also selected, while other riders could include Dutchmen Martijn Maaskant, Ricardo van der Velde, former Tour of Britain Sprints winner Johan van Summeren and American Timmy Duggan, who has ridden for the team of Jonathan Vaughters for several seasons now.
